This sculpture was created during the 1st Sculpture Symposium held in July Buñol 2004. The theme of the Symposium was "homage to Republican resistance during Franco".

Was a selection of projects from the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos de Valencia, and another vote in the Library of Buñol to decide the projects to be undertaken during the Symposium.

After making the four sculptures competing at the Symposium, he turned to make another popular vote in the Library of Bunol where he was voted "Maqui" sculpture as winning sculpture.

The sculpture, As its name indicates, represents a "Maqui", what, hidden behind a stone watch what happens, Not visible, to do and take action in the most successful way far more successful.

A "Maqui" hidden and attentive to honor the Maquis own, to honor Republican resistance during Franco.
